Long considered a subset of mental health, social health deserves its own category
Social health is about relational wellness. How connected do you feel? How lonely do you feel? Is it easy or difficult for you to make new friendships? Do you rely too much on one relationship or kind of relationship? Do you have strong social support? Does your social support system have resilience and redundancy so you can be prepared even if the worst scenario happens? Social health isn't just about loneliess and isolation, it's about all the benefits we get from feeling more connected, such as increased work productivity, economic mobility, and improved mental and phsyical health.
